A Whole New World Has Begun...
It started on April 29th, 2005 at 9:23am when the first cry of my baby girl, Jayden Bree, could be heard. I was still laying there on the OR table, Jayden still connected via umbilicus...when I began to cry, not for the pain that I would soon feel after the anesthesia wore off but for the joy and fear of caring for this new life...A whole new world has begun!
Just four hours after giving birth to this precious child, crisis started...not for the child, but for me, the mother--I was hemorrhaging internally, due to 22 hours of Pitocin and contractions coming every 1-1/2 minutes, my uterus was just to tired...my hemoglobin dropped to a very dangerous 6.0 leaving my body cold and lips blue...however, the post-partum nurses at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, NJ realized that I needed help quick and I was given 2 units of blood. I was not to be come statistic...
Now, it's 4 months later and mother and baby are doing wonderful! Jayden is doing all kinds of things these days...rolling over (both ways), laughing, cooing, grabbing and playing with her toys, sleeping thru the night (while thankfully started just as mommy when back to work!) and responds to sounds, light and her name!
This is a journey...a beginning of A Whole New World!
