Before I Was A Mom

"Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night. Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom. Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom."

Someone sent this to me in an email. I thought I'd add it to Jayden's blog...

Jayden's 1st Easter!!

In her Easter bonnet...oh wait...we didn't get her a bonnet!

Jayden woke up around 7:30am on Easter morning. Nothing different, this is when she usually gets up on weekends. Mommy and daddy got Jayden dresses in her linen Easter dress from The Children's Place and headed off to 9:30am mass. After church it was time to visit Nanny at the mausoleum. Jayden showed Nanny her Easter dress and how she can walk. Easter dinner was at grandma & grandpa's house. Pictures, pictures and more pictures where taken. Grandma made a yummy fresh ham dinner with all the trimmings. Jayden tried mashed potatoes and homemade applesauce for the very first time. She liked it too!

After dinner it was time to relax. We changed Jayden out of her Easter dress and into comfy clothes. Grandma decided to bring her outside to check out the wind-chimes. Jayden loved them! She and grandma played and played.

On Saturday, April 15th, Jayden helped to celebrate her friend Kylie's 1st birthday. It was a beautiful day out. Kylie's birthday theme was a Carnival with all sorts of games!
Grandma and grandpa thought it would be a good idea to get Jayden a second kitty kat just incase she lost the first one. Here she is so excited about having 2 kitty's!

Angela Takes Jayden's Picture!

Jayden was playing with her friend Samantha at their other friend Nicolas' 1 year birthday party on April 8th. Samantha's mommy, Angela, took this picture of Jayden. Doesn't she look all grown up in her poncho?!

Palm Sunday

Jayden's first Palm Sunday was celebrated at mommy and daddy's house. Grandma, Aunt Chrisann & Uncle Herman with Nicholas, and Uncle Chip & Aunt Eva with Danielle, Michael and Jennifer all came for dinner. Mommy made a yummy boneless leg of lamb in the "set it and forget it" rotisserie and a smoked spiral ham!! We had a Easter Egg hunt for Jayden, Nicholas and Jennifer. Even though Jayden didn't really look for the eggs it was still fun to rip apart the Easter basket of goodies!
