2010 Year In Review

We find ourselves wondering where the Year has gone and what do we have to show for it…for the Prestholdt’s, the latter part of this is not hard to imagine. It was another fun filled and exciting year.

The year started out unlike most, Jayden will remember January 18th as the day she had to say goodbye to her o' furry friend Samson. Samson was an extremely lovable domestic shorthair black cat. He had a history of kidney problems and finally fell to the disease. We will forever remember Samson as a loving cat that really acted like a dog!

Yes sir...February was the month of firsts for Jayden! February 15th Mommy had off from work so she, Jayden, Aunt Chrisann and Nicholas all when Roller Skating in a real Roller Rink! Jayden did fantastic! She didn't need to hold onto Mommy's hand nor the wall...she even 'danced' a little bit to the music as it played. Mommy decided to put roller skates on too and skated around the rink with Jayden.

In March, Jayden decided she wanted to try gymnastics this year. Mommy was both excited and weary at the same time. It was off to gymnastics to sign up. Two of Jayden's school friends also joined...Kaitlynn and Gracie. The first day was exciting! Mommy took lots of pictures and was so proud of her Little Ladybug! Also in March, Mommy survived her 40th birthday surrounded with a small family gathering. Not sure she’s settled into her new decade yet!

Jayden turned five in April with a chocolate factory experience with her friends! Imagine 17 five year olds making their own chocolate treats!

Dance Stop had their annual dance recital at The State Theatre in New Brunswick. Jayden's Tots Tap Too class performed "The Cod Fish Ball". Jayden's costume was silver and blue. She was center stage again this year!

June 18th the big day!
Little People's put on a play "The Jersey Shore" before the Graduation Ceremonies. For the Graduation Ceremony, the kids walked in to "Pomp & Circumstance" wearing real caps with tassels and shirts with each child's name on them. Jayden sang a solo..."Que Sera, Sera" and of course Mommy cried. Grandma, Mommy, Daddy and Mom-Mom Lori came to see Jayden. Afterwards, we went out for lunch. Mommy & Jayden went for mani's & pedi's to celebrate.

Also in June, Daddy was the recipient of Strathmore's Who's Who for Leadership and Achievement in Telecommunications, Telephony; nominated by his employer, The Children's Place.

By the time summer came along we were all ready for relaxation. There was Disneyland in California in July. Mommy went to the ASCLS National meeting in Anaheim and decided to bring the whole family along. August brought our ‘real’ vacation to Lake Tahoe. We stayed on the California side of the Lake. Jayden and Mommy enjoyed walks each morning while Daddy slept late.

September found Jayden starting Kindergarten toothless! That’s right; Jayden lost her first tooth days before school started. Jayden wasn’t the only one starting school this year. We don’t know what Mommy was thinking but she’s pursuing a Master’s in Health Systems at UMDNJ.

Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas were spent with family and friends.

We find ourselves looking forward to a new exciting year filled with joy, health, love and laughter and sharing it with you…our friends, family and loved ones.

Have a Blessed Holiday Season that continues to fill you and your family with happiness!

Happy New Year 2011

Our last Hurrah for 2010 brought Mommy, Daddy, and Jayden to see Tangled...the Disney story of Rapunzel! It was a wonderful movie that we enjoyed. Lunch was spent at Rudy Tuesday's, one of Jayden's favorite places to eat because of their Salad Bar!!

To bring in the New Year...we traveled over to Aunt Chrisann and Uncle Herman's house. Jayden enjoyed playing with Nicholas. At Midnight we wished everyone a Happy New Year, hugged and kissed and soon came home.

Today, January 1st, 2011, we spent the day with Mom-Mom, Dadoo, Noni, Uncle Johnny, Aunt Sandy and JP.

Snow, Snow Everywhere...2010

Just days after Christmass the East Coast was hit with a major snow storm...our town was hit with 23 inches! Thank goodness that Mommy didn't have to go to work that Monday! Daddy and Dan shuvled out all the cars and the driveway...what a sight to see! The tree in the front yard looked beautiful.

Do You Hear What I Hear?...

Jayden's Christmas Pictures...

It was Christmas Eve once again. The usual suspects came to celebrate a great feast at our house. Daddy picked up the fish from Shoprite for Mommy to prepare. There was stuffed salmon, jumbo shrimp, mussels marinara, calamari...ah yes, there was even a turkey breast since Aunt Eva, Jennifer and Michael don't eat fish. The aromas filled the house. We opened gifts and had yummy desserts.

Afterward everyone went home, Mommy and Jayden packed up the car and headed over to Mom-Mom's for the night. Daddy stayed behind to put "something" together that Santa dropped off at the house earlier in the morning before Jayden was awake! Before Mommy and Jayden left, we all sat down and wrote Santa a note to let him know that we would be at Mom-Mom and Dadoo's and that he should drop off Jayden's presents at their house.

Before Jayden was off to bed to dream of the wonderful toys she asked Santa to bring her, she left him a plate of chocolate chips cookies and apple cider. Jayden said Santa likes apple cider! Hmmm...how could she know? As Jayden went up the stairs for bed, she found a new jammy on her bed...it even had a matching jammy for her baby doll!! She was most excited. So, we read her a story and off to sleepy time land it was.

Dadoo is putting out the reindeer food in the yard!

In the morning, Jayden watched the clock and once it read "8:00am" she ran to wake everyone up..."Santa came, Santa came!" To our surprise...he came and left lots of gifts for everyone!

Daddy left around 8:30am to pick up Noni so that we could all have breakfast together. While we waited for Daddy and Noni to arrive, Jayden occupied her self with her biggest present ever from Mom-Mom and Dadoo...it was a huge Barbie Dream House!! It was almost 4 feet tall and almost as wide with three floors and an attic! Her House came filled with furniture too! She was so excited she couldn't even speak!

It was finally time for Aunt Sandy, Uncle Johnny, JP, and Kim to come over and join the fun...and to open even more presents! Jayden had a great Christmas...Merry Christmas to All and to All a great night!

Thanksgiving 2010

We spent Thanksgiving in the usual way. Mommy, Daddy and Jayden had breakfast at Mom-Mom and Dadoo's in the morning. There was deviled eggs, kielbasa, and different types of breads and muffins. It was then off to East Stroudsburg to give Thanks with Uncle Chip, Aunt Eva, Danielle, Michael and Jennifer. Just look how they've grown.
