A Whole New World Has Begun!

I wanted to dedicate a site just for my child, something what will grow as she grows, something that she will one day read for herself.

As Promised....Jayden Standing!

Yes, I know...it took me awhile to download the pictures from grandma's camera of Jayden standing but here it is!! Can you believe
it? My little angel was only 6 1/2 months old when she
posed for this picture!! She just loves grammy's shiny
garbage can...it's just like a mirror that she can see her reflection in.
You can also see Jayden's first reaction of the foliage...we plopped her down in the leaf pile and the camera went clicking. It took Jayden a little bit before she felt comfortable in the 'crinkly' brown things underneath and all around her. Soon she was picking them up (as you can see) and trying to put them in her mouth! Everything goes in her mouth these days...that's because Jayden now has one tooth that broke thru in her bottom gumline. We are also now onto eating mashed peas...unlike mommy, I don't think Jayden cares for peas very much. The face she makes while eating them is classic! Jayden also wants everyone to have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!

BABY UPDATE!

It's time for another "Baby Update"...

Jayden is now easily sitting up alone since early November, when I say sitting up...I mean bringing herself up from her tummy/back to a sitting position! In the same weekend that she did that she also raised to her knees and pulled herself up to a standing position!! (pics of that will be added as soon as I download them to the computer from grammy's camera).

Last night was Jayden's 6month well-baby checkup...she is now a whopping 16lbs.6oz and 27 inches tall! The doctor was so amazed at how she pulled herself up that told me not to be surprised if Jayden started walking by 9months...HOLY COW! guess it's time to really 'baby-proof' the house!!
During her doctor visit, Jayden also received her next set of shots. This means we are done until her 12 month visit (at least according to the nurse...but we'll see). Tears came afterwards of course but 5 minutes later the shots were all forgotten about.

A Memory from A Recent Past

You've heard all about Jayden's Grammy in previous posts...about how Grammy and Grampy love spending time with Jayden and how they take lots and lots of pictures of their first granddaughter, how Jayden enjoys spending time with them and all the special things that they do for her and do together.
Well, now it's time to meet Nanny. This is Nanny (my mother). Jayden has never met her Nanny. This is because Nanny passed away while mommy was just 5 months pregnant with Jayden. She passed away on December 25, 2004 from metastatic breast cancer at the age of 65. The picture above was taken before many cycles of chemotherapy. It was a horrible and brutal 7 years for mom as it was for my sister (Chrisann), brother (Chip) and myself. I know she's in a better place now with no more pain or suffering. I'm sure Nanny would have been very proud of her little granddaughter Jayden. I wish she was still here to know her. I miss you mom.

Jayden's 1st Halloween!

Jayden hosted her first Halloween party on Saturday, 29th!!
As you see we did a
family
theme this year...
Daddy was Hansel, mommy was Gretel and Jayden was the Gingerbread Baby!! She looked so adorable all dressed up. This was our 9th Annual Halloween Bash and we had many visitors such as The Wicked Witch of the West (Marcia) with The Scarecrow (Pedro), Darthvader (Jared), a Sheep (Emily), a Pink Dragon (Samantha), a baby Chick (Michela), a Sunflower (Kylie), a Cowgirl (Meredith) with a Cowchild (Jillian), Buzz Lightyear (Jason) with his new brother baby Pumpkin (Jacob), Charlie Brown (Mike) with The Great Pumpkin (Sherri), an Old Lady (Angela), and a Pirate (Melissa). We also had other friends that came uncostumed to help celebrate the festive night! There was plenty of food and fun was had by all. Til next year's party, we shall be thinking of another costume!
